“Leaving Home” was created for the town of Hartford, Vermont in honor of the men and women of the town who served in the armed services. Called “Leaving Home”, the artistic concept of five geese each representing a branch of the armed forces, in various positions of readiness for flight was conceived by architect, Robert White of ORW. Jeffrey Sass was commissioned to bring White’s concept to fruition, and was afforded full artistic license to stylize and create the geese and flora. All five figures are created from stainless steel and have been powder coated for preservation.
